Places of Interest
The Limousin has beautiful scenery, and Haute Vienne is noted for its deep gorges, and numerous lakes, with medieval villages and excellent cuisine.

Rochechouart has its own chateau, Romanesque church, and meteorite centre. Limoges noted for its fine Porcelain, is only 30 minutes away, and Chassenon with its Roman baths is just five minutes away. Cognac, Confolens and Angoulême, are all easily accessible.

Close by are Brantome in the Dordogne, a very pretty village where you can enjoy a boat ride on the river, or visit the Abbey and explore the caves, and Oradour-sur-Glane the village which was destroyed by the Germans in June 1944 and which has been left as a memorial to the hundreds who died there.
